Hi my name is Alan Menzies and SubtleBrick is the online portfolio of my recent freelance web design, web development and marketing work.

I have a proven ability to plan, design and launch successful websites, I love the internet and more importantly I know how to make it work for your business.

Essentially I’m a marketeer trapped inside a web designers body and as such I can offer you a unique intermingling of creativity, technical ability and business expertise served up with a healthy dose of straight talking and a positive attitude.

I approach each project firmly from a marketing perspective conducting research, profiling and analysis to get a better understanding of your business, your competitive landscape and your requirements before a single line of code is even written.

Once I have a handle on your specific needs and the requirements of your situation I can then base my design and development decisions on sound research and theory coupled with tried and tested marketing principles to ensure the end result is more than just a pretty website, but an effective solution for your business.

Each and every project I have ever worked on has presented it’s own unique challenges and issues which is why I try to avoid sweeping generalisations about my style of work or the types of site I create. Instead I’ll turn to a new (unlined) page in my notebook and start brainstorming ideas that will work for you.
